Daily Glass Of Beer, Wine Could Be Good For Your Health

Daily glass of beer, wine could be good for your health

A research published in the British Medical Journal has shown that drinking a glass of beer or wine every day may protect your heart.

To arrive at this conclusion, researchers investigated the potential link between alcohol consumption and 12 cardiovascular diseases by analysing electronic health records for nearly 2 million adults with good heart health.

The large-scale study says that having an occasional drink of beer and wine can reduce the risk of heart attack, heart failure, and stroke when compared to teetotalers.

According to the research, here are several ways that casual drinking might benefit heart health.

Cardiovascular disease

The connection between moderate drinking and lower risk of cardiovascular disease was observed in men and women.

Moderate alcohol consumption was linked with beneficial changes ranging from better sensitivity to insulin and improvements in factors that influence blood clotting.

Such changes tend to prevent the formation of small blood clots that can block arteries in the heart, neck, and brain.

Longevity

Wine is great for heart health. If you look forward to that glass of wine or two every evening, there is no need to give up the habit.

Weight loss friendly

According to the research, white wine has proven to help persons attempting to lose weight.

Despite these results, non-drinkers shouldn’t feel the pressure to pick up a bottle for their heart health, even though different studies have shown some potential benefit of casual drinking.

There are other ways of avoiding heart disease asides drinking, such as increasing levels of physical activity, maintaining a healthy diet and quitting smoking, which does not incur increased risk of harm such as alcohol dependence, liver disease and cancer.
